Alice Metzger Abrams was born in New York City and raised in Westchester County, New York. After graduating college, she moved to Boston and followed her studies as a linguist, teaching Spanish, French, German and Latin, and also translated books from Spanish into English. After retiring from the school system, Alice entered the business world and worked for Wells Fargo Credit Corporation where she was a sales representative in the Secondary Mortgage Market.
Throughout her varied careers, Alice’s true passion was exercise. She started while she was in high school, became an avid runner, taught Aerobic Dancing, trains in gyrotonics, and finally, sixteen years ago, discovered her love and addiction to pilates. Earlier this year, Alice found another new love—Xtend Barre. Through pilates training, she realized that her flexibility and range of motion increased tremendously. Recently, she observed that through her Xtend Barre classes, she developed a new, smaller chiseled look.
Alice believes that working out is “mental exercise”. She is excited to be opening her Xtend Studio and working with her daughter, Elyssa and the area’s finest instructors. She looks forward to sharing her love of exercise with others to show them the difference that it will make in their lives, both mentally and physically.
Alice is in the process of obtaining both her Xtend and Pilates training certificates. She has two adult children and has been living in S. Florida with her husband Bob for twenty years.
Elyssa Zion has a degree in special education. After teaching children with learning disabilities for 10 years, she began her own family. Throughout her career she was addicted to pilates. Taking numerous classes a week helped her prepare for her pregnancy with twins. After being a stay at home mom for 2 years, she decided to continue her passion with pilates. She is certified in power pilates mat as well as Xtend Ballet Barre. Elyssa currently lives in Boynton Beach with her husband, twin boys, and two dogs.
Holly has been practicing yoga for over six years. Desiring a deeper knowledge of yoga and its teachings, she recently completed her 200-hour certification in Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga. She is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. Holly is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others through yoga. Power Yoga is a general term used in the West to describe a vigorous, fitness-based approach to Vinyasa-style yoga. (Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale.)
Each "power hour" class aims to build core strength, lengthen muscles, and achieve inner peace. Students will be challenged, but not discouraged--keeping it fun regardless of experience. The class is appropriate for all levels, and great for athletes. Modifications will be given to beginners as well as seasoned practitioners.

Kristen believes physical fitness is priceless; it gives us strength, endurance, self-confidence, flexibility, a healthy mind and keeps us beautiful in appearance. It is the key to a happy and balanced life.
Kristen, a true fitness fanatic, spent years working out at a gym, but was getting tired of the same routine and wanted something new. She first discovered Pilates after walking into a local studio one day to ask for information. “As I stood there watching, I was so amazed to see such precise, graceful movements performed with such incredible strength that I immediately I knew I had to try it. Finding Pilates was like opening a whole new world to me.”
Kristen spent over 10 years in corporate marketing before getting hooked on Pilates. She is now a certified Power Pilates Trainer and enjoys helping others improve both their physical and mental well-being with renewed energy to go about their day.
